Puertos base
El puerto base es un término utilizado en el comercio exterior y la logística marítima para referirse al puerto principal o inicial desde el cual se despachan mercancías en un transporte marítimo internacional. Este puerto suele ser un punto de partida estratégico debido a su infraestructura, ubicación geográfica, y conexiones con rutas marítimas principales.
En el contexto de un contrato de compraventa internacional, el puerto base puede también designar el lugar donde las mercancías son entregadas al transportista por parte del vendedor, según los términos del contrato (como en los Incoterms FOB – Free On Board).
Por ejemplo, en una exportación desde China hacia Ecuador, un puerto base podría ser el Puerto de Shanghái, donde la carga se transfiere al transportista marítimo antes de ser enviada a su destino final.
